Our company is looking to migrate from a Watchguard Firebox 2 Fast VPN to a PIX 525. One reason for this is the report that the stateful architecture of the PIX will increase the performance of the vpn sessions utilizing 3DES. We have several vpn tunnels in place as well as nat and ipsec clients on the watchguard and performance, as well as stability, has become a serious issue for us. If anyone on this list is familiar with any "recent" documentation from independent sources that either deny or substantiate cisco's performance claims, it would be appreciated. In addition, I would also like to see any recent firewall performance benchmarks for various firewalls initiated by an independant agency.I have not been successsful finding any recent meaningful benchmarks.
