If you're using Checkpoint's FW-1, you might look at CP's
SecureClient product. It's a VPN client/Firewall for the
clients but is, from what I understand, managed from the
CP management interface, and SecureClient downloads new
policies when each client connects. I've never used it,
but it intrigues me nonetheless.
