MSN messenger received (and subsequent variant) a virus a week or so ago.
W32.Hello
(A and B) is the name of the virus.

You can expect this to be a new niche area for virus-writers to target, as
Instant Messengers
find themselves becoming more popular in use for Corporate environments.

You could still block the transmission of files through say, MSN messenger,
but allow communication.

And if you are in a company which has poor auditing or network monitoring in
place, it's just
another communication tool which will introduce possible malicious content
into the network.

Subject: Yahoo IM/ MSN IM

Hi folks,

I need some views on possible security loopholes and issues in allowing
yahoo instant messenger or MSN messenger to users. So far i have come
across only one DOS on yahoo IM which ublished long ago , it was
applicable on old build of yahoo ( some 734)

TIA
