He uses VNC across the INternet or in the corporate network?
If he uses it across the Internet is he encrypting it?

VNC isn't about security it's about remote server
monitoring... similar to PC Anywhere.

More useful for what? PPTP has nothing in common with VNC, except
perhaps that they both use TCP/IP

PPTP has had very bad reviews from very good cryptanalysts.
VNC is a good Remote Administration tool that has nothing to do with
encryption.
