Hy,

I don't know why you are claiming that there are no GUIs for
iptable/ipchains/ipfilter..
After a short search on freshmeat you should have at least one 
sure hit!

I'm currently using fwbuilder from  
        http://sourceforge.net/projects/fwbuilder

.. it's GUI is similar to the FW-1 GUI and  uses a platform and firewall
neutral file format (XML based) which is then compiled to native
config/startup files. Currently supported are iptable, ipchains
and ipfilter.
