There is definitely a problem with smtp fixup in 5.3. It has something to
do with the start of field and end of field markers being in two different
packets. If the mail is a long one you get this error but if it is brief it
will slip by. A side product is that the sending mail server will not know
it sent a message successfully and just keep on sending it till it times
out. resulting with the end user see a hundred copies. I find the checkpoint
mail relay is notorious for this. (but it not it's fault)
