Zachary,

CCNA stands for "Cisco Certified Network Associate" which is the first in
the training series for the Cisco certification track. I would recommend
taking the certification if you're planning on doing any network engineering
type work as it gives you a good look at routing and the various layers of a
network.

IVCP stands for "InfoVista Certified Professional". InfoVista is used for
Performance Management. Perhaps you're familiar with its competition,
Concord Network Health is one. This would be a good area to look into if
you were planning on doing any type of network management.

MCS I believe stands for "Microsoft Certified Specialist", or maybe its MCP
(Microsoft Certified Professional). I'm not real familiar with Microsoft's
certification track since I try to avoid Microsoft administration like the
plague (hows that for biased). :)

None of these are security associated certifications, at least not outright.
I would recommend going to http://www.sans.org and looking into their
training programs. I personally can't recommend any security certification
courses as I have not taken any (self teaching has its benefits), but I'm
sure some of the people on the firewall mailing list can certainly point you
in the right direction. I would recommend that you try to attend as many
security conferences as you can. I've been trying for years to get out to
the Defcon conventions but can never get away from work to go.

Hope that helps...
