Thanks for the five or six very helpful replies I received by mail. As it
turns out, the NetScreen 10 in question was manufactured in 1998, which
means that it (1) does not provide IPSEC VPN and (2) is impossible to
upgrade with the current code because of limited flash (this from T. C.
Williams, Regional Manager for NetScreen). What was that old adage about,
"If it seems too good to be true...?" Nonetheless, I am disappointed...

Ironically, the seller is now advertising the same unit again on eBay, and
he has copied the product description from NetScreen's current web page,
which implies that the unit *does* offer IPSEC VPN. Beware! On the other
hand, if you're just looking for a basic firewall with old (but, to a point,
upgradeabe) code, the current selling price is $800.00.
