I currently own a copy of ISA server and have yet to install it. I run a
multi-pc environment in my home where I have setup a lab to practice
generating and blocking attacks (I'm a networking student). I am looking
for a good firewall program to setup and use at home (commercialy aimed),
while gaining some more experience for the field. I received ISA for free
(how can you argue with that?) and I am not a Unix person. So the question
is, are there alternatives to work with? I originally setup Mandrake's
firewall OS, but the DHCP client was failing, and I don't know enough to
administer a Unix machine yet. I am looking to have 3 NIC's (DMZ, LAN, and
WAN) so I can run a file server and mirror ports to an IDS.

Second question: What kind of IDS to run? I was running SNORT on the
original setup, but like I said, I'm not a UNIX person. Are there any other
commercial aimed aps for M$ ?

Thanks in Advance,
