Hi People,
I am unable to communicate through a vpn tunnel established between a Lucent
Brick and a checkpoint 4.1.

We managed to get the tunnel up...however there seems to be a compatibility
issue. When
there is a ping initiated from either end, the IPSEC encryption scheme for
the
packets at one end do not match the Scheme at the other end.Hence though
the tunnel status is UP, the encryption scheme for packets at both ends do
not match. The current encryption scheme at both ends is : DES and
authentication
is SHA1.

Any suggestions to solve this issue is most welcome at the earliest.

regards,
Shoney Joy

Subject: Syslogs on FW-1

Hi All,

I have recently started using a separate Management Station with my
FW-1s,
and now the logs are building up on the NT box that is the Man. Station.
I had previously set up some scripts to handle the logs (on the Nokia
platforms) on an hourly basis, and send these logs to a remote syslog
daemon. I now wish to do the same with the NT box.
I have not tried setting up a bat file to run FW LOG etc yet, but even
if
this works I need to automate the procedure and have no tools on the NT
system (it is very "vanilla").

What does everyone else do for log control on NT platforms, and can you
recommend any packages or freeware solutions ?

Many thanks,
Gordon
