The one you know best and therefore are able to strip from all
unneeded things and really understand and control what it does.

If you want to purchase some plug'n'pray solution get someone
competent into this and learn at least the basics from him.

A competent admin will build reasonable secure systems with both
FreeBSD and most Linux distribution, an incompetent will screw up
anyway.  If you are familiar with some Linux distribution and deploy
it anyway in your environment, staying there might be a good idea.
If you have enough resources to work with yet another system it
might be a good idea too, so you're able to make a qualified choice
and compensate weak spots in one with strong ones in the other.
