Hi, Well the WG units are very easy to use so on that front I can recommend them. Their performance is really defined by whether you use much proxying as the packet filters are good for performance - you should easily be able to handle a T1 with a 1000. To be honest if the usage is as you show you could probably use a 700. Here's a comparison:
http://www.watchguard.com/products/fbcompare.asp I am wondering why you don't get someone to provide you with a managed service as that way you won't incur the hassle of keeping up on the technology. Add to that the fact that most will upgrade you to better hardware when you need it - for a price of course! I have a bias in this area but still it seems like something you might find of use :-) Cheers, Steve On Wed, 2002-02-20 at 20:09, Mike Guadagnino wrote: > Hi there - > > After a fair amount of research I have narrowed my choices to these 3 > products: > > FireBox 1000 > SonicWall 200 > NetScreen 25 > > These were based on performance with a big emphasis on ease of use > (being a one man show here), for under $5000.
