V-One makes a similar product (but not socks 5) and
they will either sell you the gateway or a managed service. (Tell them I refered
you.)
Both are proxy based and require NAT on the
inside.
IPSec based firewalls can also give you VPN access
and NAT becomes optional, depending on network configuration, outbound
needs and policy. Cisco, Check Point and Netscreen lead the pack but
there are dozens more.
A breed of products is emerging which uses web
pages and your normal browser with SSL to access specific applications.
Essentially a web based VPN.
Finally, there are systems for encrypting data
at rest and then granting access based on authentication and user rolls.
You have to have all the right permissions to both access the data and to view
it. Kind of nice from a security point of view since even if systems are
compromised it's really hard to see the info. They even try to block
screen shots.
