Hello Every One,
I am administering a Solaris-based Blackhole firewall which is a pure ALG. It uses SUN's syslog utility to log all the events. Every now and then we have noticed that it fails to restart after the nightly roll of the logs when the size of the log files is zero. Last week we also noticed that syslog didn't log any thing for about 10 minutes. Are these the known holes in SUN's syslog. Has any one noticed similar symptoms and how can I remedy these situations. I am also looking for some Report Analysis tools that I can use with syslog to generate meaningful reports. Any help, pointers will be greatly appreciated.
