As I said about five or six messages ago in this same thread: http://hometoys.com/htinews/aug01/articles/microsoft/upnp.htm (Rant warning) And, no, it isn't specifically ISA server (I still refuse to call that a firewall... alerts in the _NT EVENT LOG_?!?!), although I expect Microsoft will implement UPnP in it any day now (if they haven't already). It's any box that wants to be compatible with whatever they dream up next that needs full peer-to-peer compatibility and firewall rule bypassing. For instance, the Dlink DI-70x (whatever the number is -- the little plastic thing that is no larger than a walkman) supports it. And, while on the topic, "Down, not across" is how you're supposed to slit your wrists for the best effect. Appropriate, if things that support UPnP NAT traversal get to pass for firewalls. "And thus we retract the foreskin of ignorance and apply the wire brush of enlightment" -- Geoff Miller. This nicely sums up what I'm in a mood to do to some people just about now. -- Mikael Olsson, Clavister AB Storgatan 12, Box 393, SE-891 28 RNSKLDSVIK, Sweden Phone: +46 (0)660 29 92 00 Mobile: +46 (0)70 26 222 05 Fax: +46 (0)660 122 50 WWW: http://www.clavister.com _______________________________________________ Firewalls mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://lists.gnac.net/mailman/listinfo/firewalls
