I am having some trouble digesting Cisco's
authentication choices for VPNs. They list the
following options:

1)Authentication method RSA signatures (Rsa-sig)
2)RSA encrypted nonces (Rsa-encr)
3)Pre-shared keys (Pre-share)

Choices two and three make sense to me but how does
just plain RSA signatures work? Surely you have to
pass a nonce or some other random data signed with
your RSA key to authenticate. Is this just poor
documentation or is there something I am missing?
Thanks
KK
