Many firewall / VPN products can be configured to support the environment you describe. We have done so for example using CyberGuard firewalls with their VPN product. I know that last time I tried this with Cisco PIX, I was unable to accomplish this without separate address spaces on each site. I can't speak expertly to all of the other products out there, as I have not tried this with them.
