Which is a good point. Yet, if that one vendor bites it and closes the doors <we're seeing alot of this these days with some big names> then you have one hell of a mess on your hands trying to get a new vendor to pick up the pieces. Additionally, you do run a risk that one failure in code and a working exploit might well traverse the whole defensive straedgy. another issue is how well those vedors do the 'jack-of'all-trades' coding. Many folks like to find different vendors that do one thing well, and are able to do it in a fashion that is interoperable with other vendors products.
