Dear EAS Community,
We are excited to announce a new division-wide affinity space and working group - Womxn in EAS! This group aims to support women graduate students and postdocs, including trans women and non-binary/non-conforming folks who may benefit from this femme-centered space. Currently, there are a few departmental women’s organizations (e.g. Women in GALCIT, Women in MCE, Women in CMS), however, due to the varying sizes of departments there is a lack of such groups for some EAS students. By organizing at the division-level, we can engage more students, achieve larger goals, and partner with other division-level women’s organizations for campus-wide events and initiatives. We’re hoping to foster interdisciplinary relationships between our members, provide professional development and academic support and resources, promote advocacy and inclusion within Caltech, and engage with the greater Pasadena community through outreach initiatives. If you’re interested in joining, please sign up here<https://forms.gle/9xpRC7ejngShXov57>, and we’ll add you to our mailing list! Come meet other womxn in EAS at our kickoff event for the year on Tuesday, September 28th at 12pm over zoom.<https://forms.gle/9xpRC7ejngShXov57> We’ll also share some preliminary ideas, gauge the interests and priorities of our group members, and start to develop a leadership structure. RSVP for the kickoff event in the sign up form<https://forms.gle/9xpRC7ejngShXov57> mentioned above and if you have any questions feel free to email [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>. -Niyati Niyati Desai PhD Candidate Caltech Aerospace Engineering
