Dear FIS colleagues, The next session is already arranged: James will start in around one week "The Background to Modern Science" (the announcement very soon).
For the the following discussion about info theory, the idea is that we explore a new modality, "discussion express". Rather than spending a couple of months with the whole topic as usual, we could arrange four different subtopics into separate slots, each one with a duration of only 2-3 weeks, and with a different chair (endowed with more weekly postings, say 5 messages per week). It means that we can concentrate more intensely in each subtopic, and spend less time overall. If it works, we can repeat this can of express session to deal with punctual topics presented by interesting invitees or people of the list. Well, there are already two parties interested in chairing one of the slots related to info theory.
