this will be complicated because there is one fish instance for every
user, so on a multiuser system each fish instance will need a socket,
and you need to be sure that the right user on the remote machine
connects to the right local user. the same issues as nfs has
essentially. 

just opening a socket and allowing any fish from anywhere to connect is
dangerous.
