This problem has been mentioned on this list before by Brian Donovan I
believe, but as I've just subscribed I'm not sure how to get that e.mail to
properly reply to it. In any case, if I add fish to my /etc/shells and then
set it as my default shell with chsh on my Mac OS X machine, I get this when
I start up a new Terminal tab:

Welcome to fish, the friendly interactive shell
Type help for instructions on how to use fish

I never actually get a command prompt and the fish process started up ramps
up to 100% CPU usage, requiring a kill -9 to clobber it. Meanwhile, starting
fish up directly works without any problems. Basically appears as if running
fish as the login shell is causing the problem.

I'm running fish 1.23.0 as compiled by MacPorts and I appear to have the
most recent version from ports. Has anyone found a work-around or a solution
to this? Is it a known problem?
