Git repositories are the same, regardless of the presentation layer
(GitHub, Gitorious, instaweb, gitk, tig, or whatever) sitting in front
of them.  We can definitely have a GitHub mirror of the official
Gitorious repository so GitHub-preferring folks can fork and hack
away.  When their work is integrated (by merge or cherry-pick) into
the official repository, you'll see it in the cool Network Graph on
GitHub (even though you've forked a "GitHub mirror" of a "Gitorious
repository").
