Yep, it would be great to have both ways of completing because each one is the more efficient one in some circumstances. (No configurability though!) Spelling correction is also very useful, and can be done with a completion menu instead of just after you hit enter. A related blue-sky feature I've wanted since when Axel started on Fish is a status line or lines below the prompt, to show context, messages or automatic completion suggestions automatically, as you type. That would allow to make shell features more discoverable, show spelling corrections and other things.
