The next release of fish is on its way! As usual, we are starting with a beta release, 2.5b1. Testing on all platforms is greatly appreciated. In particular, fish now requires a C++11 compiler to build from source, which will affect older platforms including OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard), Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 & 6, Ubuntu 12.04 (Precise) and Debian 7 (wheezy). OS X 10.6 will require an extra package installed; the Linux platforms will not have binary packages available on some (or all) architectures.
