i learned emacs through the interactive tutorial and gdb with the quick 
reference guide. i think that either of these approaches would provide great 
value for learning the fish shell and its cool features. the interactive 
tutorial would build muscle memory, while the quick reference would give a 
concise overview of what the fish shell can do, how to do it, and reference the 
excellent longer forms of documentation such as mark's article.
