PRIVATE MASSES
whatever you know,
leave it in your clothes
and come to me naked.
i have a small powerful mouth
and see no reason to believe
that strength of will
is an illusion.
restore my faith.
let our children
raise themselves,
given over
to engage the present.
my sermon has
no words.
you have chosen
not to hear.
there are many who will try
and never reach
the heart.
i am sure that i am
one of them.
the fakest part of a fake flower
is where the bloom attaches to the stem.
eager for fall.
