Space is full of tentacles, and this
mistiness seems deceptively obstructed.
But you know, they have the utmost
in navigational equiptment these days,
and gravity was merely what soldered
your scaled feet to a planet not your own.

What is needed for your journey,
my friend, can easily be found
at the whaling outpost:
it's so simple that they left it free for you,
and really, it's easier than maps to arrive.
The sea's no Fear, only a bathtub with golfish!

Do not forget, Captain, that the grog
is kept to port, and the starfish
to starboard. Hard tack's up the
mizzen mast and there's no end
to the salted meats, or to the
cinnamon belowdeck--and the fire!

Nothing ever stops flying, and burning:
Shakleton knew this of Ice, and even when
space flesh melts, there is still a glow like
a near-done lightbulb, or warm old roses.
Float or flame as you please, it's all freedom at sea.
Navigation is merely surety, the ship's the thing!

-Tay Arrow Sherman.
