1. The museum is burning, and the patrons are trapped between walls they had come once, to admire, and take notes and talk about how meaningful it all was; and now the museum is burning trapping them between all these endless meanings that no one could ever agree on. Because we had inside of us a giant, marble staircase and inside, a hall, filled with trinkets and gems and expressions we had picked up from one another and a catalog of habits we loved, and disliked a security guard, and gift shop. Now, the plane has crashed into the these wings and destroyed all the japanese pottery, seagull remembrances, Civil-War Grave Rubbings, Trust and half of the yearning. 2. The airplane was being run despite smoke filling the cabin and the pilots had lost control; and what was once altitude had become a shrill screech of rapid decline, and the thrill of weightlessness despite all these heavy thoughts of life and love and crashing into marble buildings. Our fellow passengers were too numerous to count, or to even imagine as sharing our fate; some were 72, married for 40 years, some were 16 and 17, some were desperate and others refused to speak, even upon impact; some were pilots who simply refused and others were pilots who simply weren't believed. There are too many tragedies in this disaster; and yet all I can think of in this loss is hoping your heart is left intact, amongst the wreckage, and that we may ever find your happiness. 3. The plane we are on crashes into us as we are walking around this building; and we walk away, I suppose, relatively unscathed; save a few wounds I inflicted in tenderer parts of your heart; not that I can see it, anymore, as the impact has given us partial blindness in each others eyes. But if you are walking, alone and dizzy, and I cannot find you it is well enough for if I did, it would seem all I could accomplish is driving you home on some starry night with perfect music and crashing into us as we are taken away in hearses. -e. _______________________________________________ Five7Five mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.pairlist.net/mailman/listinfo/five7five
