i sometimes get the feeling it's all over.
like at any minute now the whole thing will pop
and we'll all fall into it.
i only seem to get a glimmer of it every so often
and they come so few and far between
that i often take a few moments to recognize them.
the feeling fails to disipate usually
and i still wince in pain for sometimes days, even weeks afterwards
and yet i still manage to move on
there is no way to escape it
it draws me closer to the maw with every instant
