First, they uprooted the still-strong tree that I used to climb when I used to live there.
The hole that it left in the dirt looked like a mass grave without the lime. It took a while to fill, cuz the ground kept sinking (the way that a kid's shoulders sag when he's beaten for speaking). Then, they just let the whole place fall to shit, like some old uncle in a wheelchair near the beach, gathering driftwood he might one day have carved into a ship if only the damned wheels wouldn't stop turning. Now, they're just gonna tear down the whole fucking house because the wood is rotting. At least the old dirt's still there, unsagging. Hard fucking dirt, that Texas clay. I'd tried to dig to China, but the only place it got me was the shower. Which broke a long fucking time ago, I guess. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]On Behalf Of bronnie Sent: Friday, November 22, 2002 10:35 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: [X] a planet of treetops under music, bending waves, falling backwards, gently, thin, wet leaves, and prickles drinking liquor-thin starlight and citrus divine underneath balm, and dark green eyes, and air makes this thick, and moody, and minding, and trickling, and twisting; and flying between Drunken Steps and maroon camouflage, and there's not a dry eye in the place, i swear, when you set down and finally grieve for this, live through this, trying-times-conquer this, and time life and manage these ages gone by. can you mourn for it, really? all that lost sunshine, and twilight arcadia, and rocks breaking rocks in gaping excitement, and the last breath of corelight is filed away slowly, and gives off steam through a small little hole; and i can't end this, not really, without setting myself down in defeated entropy sprawling out on the ground and melting, benignly -bronnie _______________________________________________ Five7Five mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.pairlist.net/mailman/listinfo/five7five _______________________________________________ Five7Five mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.pairlist.net/mailman/listinfo/five7five
