The paranoid man really doesn't want the service plan I am offering to him, pretends to consider it anyway, says no, then makes sure his phone number stays unlisted, then gets nervous when his credit card has to be called in and I give the bank his numbers; as if I had some skilled method of calling a friend to just write them all down, and then they take them and maybe go and buy gasoline or something, but mostly I knew this guy was a nervous type and I didn't know how to convince him that the world is safe and I am just a guy trying to make a living by helping him find the stuff he wants and that afterwards I go home and worry about what this girl is gonna say and if my friend is mad because I pretended to think he was faking when he called in sick, but maybe that's the whole thing about it- the credit card thief and lying salesman is really just me and I only steal credit cards accidentally and even then only if you call in sick
