London, 11TH May 2009: Rapid Addition, the leading technology solutions
provider to global financial electronic trading markets, and ThoughtWorks, a
global IT consultancy and the original providers of QuickFIX, have entered into
a partnership to launch RA for QuickFIX (“RA-4QF”).
RA4QF enables existing users of QuickFIX to benefit from Rapid Addition’s
high-performance, ultra-low latency FIX engine – RA-Cheetah™ – with minimal
integration effort.

QuickFIX was originally developed by ThoughtWorks in 2002 as an open source FIX
engine. Although extremely successful in its own right, advances in technology,
coupled with new demands in today’s rapidly-changing market, have led Rapid
Addition and ThoughtWorks to conclude that the time is right for RA-4QF, a
dynamic, natural successor to QuickFIX.
Rapid Addition and ThoughtWorks have both been involved in FIX almost since its
inception and aligning their efforts is seen by both companies as a natural
step in the evolution of their respective businesses.
Rapid Addition is keen to assist existing users - estimated to be in excess of
several thousand users globally - who may have outgrown QuickFIX, to make the
transition smoothly and cost-effectively by registering their interest via the

Toby Corballis, CEO of Rapid Addition, welcomed the announcement, saying: “We
are very excited by our partnership with ThoughtWorks, the originators of
QuickFIX. We look forward to delivering value to the QuickFIX community and
providing clear and reduced Total Cost of Ownership with an easy to integrate,
fully supported, FIX engine along with the increased performance and
flexibility that users of our FIX engine currently enjoy.”
William Kimmel, VP of Professional Services of ThoughtWorks, added: "We at
ThoughtWorks are proud of our work in creating QuickFIX, and we are very
pleased to allow QuickFIX users a way to adopt the RA for QuickFIX platform
quickly."
