Hi Joe,

With 4.0 you are lucky because the tags only go up to 140 but with 4.2 you have 
custom tags like locate 5700 and it provides you more flexibility with routing, 
etc.  If you are on FIX 4.0 and your counter party is on 4.2 they must be a 
middle man and should "dumb it down" for you.  They can not mandate any tags 
over 140.  You have to be on the same version to connect so that is why I am 
thinking they are a middle man.  I hope this helps.
