My compilation of quickfix engine with python and mysql APIs on Linux failed. I found a precompiled quickfix with no APIs, it seems to run its internal tests succesfully but there is no description included with it as to what features it supports. Moreover quickfix probably fully supports only c++ applications. Wireshark analyser shows some FIX protocol activity on locahost when running those tests. OK, now what... I would like to start practicing the protocol and develop some trading algorithms but the engine does not have any interface for direct submitting of instructions does it?
