Had a very positive meeting this AM between FPL executive, marketing and GTC members. * Normative Documentation draft 3 is going to the GTC Governance Committee for preliminary approval of structure and content today! * GTC will not require any further changes past FIXatdl WG build 2.6.6 based on the longer range XML study. * The name space issue, involving only a few lines of code in the header of the 2.6.6 build, and not impacting any render/parser code currently in use, should be resolved to the satisfaction of the GTC within a week. * Work group build 2.6.6 which has been 100% stable for several months now (with the name space minor update change, if required) will be the one going to the GTC for final approval very shortly. * On March 9th http://www.tsam.net/event_view_link.asp?eid=369 Rapid Addition http://www.rapidaddition.com/index.asp?page=2 will do a preliminary public pre announcement of the upcoming release of FIXatdl v1.1. See the agenda below. http://www.fixprotocol.org/committees/gtc * Today FPL made an absolute firm commitment to the March 23 public launch date and press conference for FIXatdl v1-1 at the FPL EMEA Trading Conference. * The GTC approval process for build 2.6.6 was predicted to be extremely accelerated - FIXatdl was seen as extremely well vetted in the industry already with several commercial adopters, so approval will be fast tracked. * It was predicted that build 2.6.6 (with one possible minor change) will be GTC approved at FIX by January 31st. * If your firm may have v1-1 product ready to demo in the 3/23 time frame please advise ASAP so we can start building that marketing presentation and press conference agenda. __________________ First news of v1.1 release http://www.tsam.net/event_view_link.asp?eid=369 12:15 FIXatdl SM: Delivering the potential to Generate Significant Cost Savings for your firm * In the spring 2010 FPL plans to release the FIX Algorithmic Trading Definition Language sm (FIXatdl) version 1.1 (the version recommends for adoption) * FIXatdl will enable firms receiving orders to specify exactly how their electronic orders should be expressed and then transmit them from the traders’ systems via the FIX Protocol. These files may then be automatically read as configuration files into buy-side OMS systems * This new addition to the FIX family of standards will present significant potential to the buy-side community, enabling your firm access to access new and innovative new algorithmic order types in a reduced timeframe, in addition to generating significant cost savings * This session will provide delegates with a detailed understanding of FIXatdl, the business benefits it will deliver and what your firm should be doing today to achieve maximum potential from this new and impactful technology Alex Susserott, Member of FPL EMEA Governance Board, FIX Protocol [You can unsubscribe from this discussion group by sending a message to mailto:[email protected]] -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Financial Information eXchange" group.
