Sr. Business Analyst Equities Job location: Downtown, NY Job duration: Permanent Salary: Negotiable Position Purpose: Partners with IT and Global Equity to assess research, analyze and document business and systems needs in order to resolve business systems issues. Key Accountabilities: •Provides consulting services to business partners on new initiatives (small to large of varying complexity). Develops proposals for small to medium projects. •Leads detailed requirement phases identifying, tracking, escalating and/or resolving business systems issues. •Assesses researches, analyzes and documents sponsor/stakeholder needs in accordance with the Project Life Cycle utilizing reporting tools, and requirements. Identifies tracks and resolves business systems issues. •Recommends business solutions that satisfy sponsor/stakeholder needs continually exploring and assessing options for value-add for clients. •Together with the Project Manager and the Development Manager, determines the best mix of development, interfacing applications, and third party vendor solutions to meet business requirements and project objectives. •Contributes to successful project completion within budget and on time by identifying risks and developing/recommending mitigation strategies. •Develops detailed plans and accurate estimates for completion of the Requirements phase of the project. Job Requirements: (Knowledge/ Experience): •Bachelor’s Degree in Business, MIS/IT, or a related field. A minimum of five years experience in trading and/or trading technology. •Advanced knowledge of North American and international equities trading and settlement processes. •Advanced knowledge of buyside and sellside Order Management Systems, Direct Market Access Platforms, Allocations tools, as well as the Microsoft ® Office suite of products. •Advanced understanding of electronic trading tools including black box trading, algorithmic trading, basket trading, hedge trading, arbitrage trading, dark pool trading and smart order routing, proprietary and agency trading.•Familiarity with derivative products including options, futures, interest rate & equity swaps, credit derivatives, foreign exchange forward contracts and securities finance. Knowledgeable on requirements methods: interviewing, data modelling, business process modelling, business object modelling and user interface design, Use Cases, RUP and the traditional waterfall approach. Absolutely must have -expert front office equities experience, Algorithmic Trading or Electronic Trading Experience, Smart Routing OR Smart Order Routing Experience.
