About 6 years ago on this list there were a rash of letters posted here that profiled a good many of the original stallions... I kept those in a hard copy file and took them out this morning, when I saw Grabbson's name, and read about his sire Grabb from an account of Doctor Brian Jacobsen's... it is priceless!

He said some lovely things about about this noteworthy stallion!

Many breeds deposit semen samples in a gene bank from their foundation stock and I'm wondering if this has been a consideration with the registry in the past? Maybe this came up before, but not to my recollection.

Mike, has that ever come up?

Not that I am aware of. I don't see where the Registry would fit into this anyway. The semen wouldn't be the property of the Registry unless it was a donation or something. If it was a donation then whose decision would it be as to when to use it, how much to charge for it etc, etc...
