Subject: Re: [RecreationalEquineDriving] horse sneakers???
I have used Easy Boots, Swiss Boots, Old Macs, Horsneakers and am getting
ready to try Marquis. So that will give you an answer that there is no
perfect boot. I personally found the Old Macs terrible at rubbing and sold
both my pairs on CD-L a few months back. You have to get a really good fit
with them or they turn easily and rub. They are made for horses with very
wide saucer like feet. Once you put Old Macs on you own them and they will
not take them back for any reason.
My suggestion is if you can to leave your guys barefoot until March if
possible if you want to use Horsesneakers. Your horses feet will expand
over time without shoes and their hoof shape will change and since they are
semicustom made it will be easier to get the right fit. I have competed in
Horsneakers all summer and the only downfall is doing a
marathon over wet grass. They do tend to slip a bit. I would recommend
having them put the buckling strap on the outside instead of inside and
getting the rough bottom. I am curious about the European Marquis and hope
they will provide a little better traction for me on grass. I have used
Horsneakers for years and they have been great going down the roads and
pleasure driving.
