This message is from: GAIL RUSSELL <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Is there a possibility that New Zealand fencing is dangerous if horses run into it - and slice themselves open on the wire? When I was first looking into horse fencing I asked about New Zealand fencing and was told it could cause very severe injuries. Am I thinking of a different type of fencing? (Wires thin enough to cut if slammed into by an exuberant horse.) Is it important to hot wire it so the horses are not accustomed to running into it? My pipe panel fencing shows signs of horses running up to it, doing sliding stops where their feet end up under the fence - which could result in some nasty cannon bone injuries if there wire there?
I recognize that Gayle and Misha are experienced horse people who are careful about their fence choices- so wanted to clarify and reconcile their recommendations with my previous understanding about New Zealand fence. AND - I wouldn't mind installing it myself if I thought it was safe!
