Thanks for your mention of Rusten and Buck's influence.. I really think
Rusten is one of the most overlooked stallions in the US. He impressed
me the very first time I saw him at Libby in '89. Very strong and
compact, yet with refinement.

I am Jennie Sanders (16yrs), I've been working with, and for, Chip
Lamb since last spring. I read the e-mails of your thoughts on Rusten
in the past and I am sooooo proud of all the stories. I never got to see
Rusten when he was at his peak, but I have seen pictures. I am not sure
how many of you know Rusten was hit a couple winters ago by a car... He
is still trucking along though! (excuse the pun) After many long
months, he recovered and now walks on three legs, using his fourth like
a crutch. He can still do his 'duty' with the mares!!! (and looks
forward to it with a big smile)

As for his disposition.... He is the BEST mannered stallion I've
seen. He would even put a lot of mares to shame in the manners
department! He also takes care of the weanling foals and that
temperament DOES carry through to his foals. Rusten has a son at Quad-L
named Kaiser who is also carrying on the lineage.

Back in their day I am sure Chip and Rusten could have done and did
do it all!!!!! Thank you all for Remembering Rusten... it means a lot to
me, Chip and to the rest of us at Quad-L Ranch. Chip and Rusten are
special to all of us. Under Chip's guidance I have learned so much over
the last eight months, I think my heads going to pop. My horse Serena
and I brought home many thirds and a first at Libby. I can't wait for
next year when we really know what we're doing!

All of Chip's old friends are encouraged to drop him a line, drop in
to visit, and just let him know how much he has meant to you and your
fjords over the years. 1226 Colburn Culver Rd., Sandpoint, ID. 83864
208-263-3344. He'd love to hear from you. Check out the new babies next
spring. Thanks.
