Hi Fellow Fjord Fanciers,

The subject of Fjord mules is one I couldn't resist. I have met a pair of
Fjord mules up close and personal. They looked just like Fjords with long
ears. Their owner uses them for farm work and shows such as the Drummond
days. They are extremely smart and have the Fjord attitude of being
personable and need to please. I am not a big mule fan but our neighbor
Jack Eden , the famous mule trainer, helps us put our Fjords in harness
uses draft mules for everything. I would be proud to drive the pair of
Fjord mules I met. They were Quite impressive and were real people
pleasers. I probably get 1 inquiry a month from folks who would like to
purchase Fjord mules. I always give the stock answer of no outcrossing but
in the case of mules I think it would be a good thing. Genetically the
breed would still be pure and the wonderful Fjord attributes would make a
mule worth looking at . I'm just not too sure how a Fjord mare would take
those big ears. Jack thinks that the Fjord mule would be the best of the
best. that's something coming from a pillar of the mule community.

This is just my thoughts for you all to take or leave

Denise Galbraith
