Thank you for your wonderful description of Live Oak, Vivian. Wish we could have been there! Larry Poulin will be giving a clinic here, in Loveland (which is 20 minutes from us) July 15-18. Can't wait to work with him! If anyone wants more info about the clinic, I can get it, so contact me. Mary, thank you for your well said words about fjords. Anyone can get into trouble with any breed. I know plenty of novice folks who have done their own work with their fjords, have taken their time, have gotten help when they needed it, and have been very happy with their progress. I also know of folks who've had serious trouble, who shouldn't have started with any kind of young horse, no matter what breed. As for "special needs", well, we learned that there is "horse proofing" and there is "fjord proofing" around the property. But, I don't think it's any different from another drafty type of horse that might learn that they can use their wieght to move things that were between them and the object of their desire! Hot wire is a wonderful thing. Beth -- Beth Beymer & Sandy North Starfire Farm, Berthoud CO http://www.starfirefarm.com
