Thank you for your wonderful description of Live Oak, Vivian.  Wish we
could have been there!  Larry Poulin will be giving a clinic here, in
Loveland (which is 20 minutes from us) July 15-18.  Can't wait to work

Mary, thank you for your well said words about fjords.  Anyone can get
into trouble with any breed.  I know plenty of novice folks who have
done their own work with their fjords, have taken their time, have
gotten help when they needed it, and have been very happy with their
progress.  I also know of folks who've had serious trouble, who
shouldn't have started with any kind of young horse, no matter what
breed.

As for "special needs", well, we learned that there is "horse proofing"
and there is "fjord proofing" around the property.  But, I don't think
it's any different from another drafty type of horse that might learn
that they can use their wieght to move things that were between them and
the object of their desire!  Hot wire is a wonderful thing.
