Mark,

It would be interesting to know how Katya reacted to
your Alpacas when you first had her home, as she was
raised here with llamas right on the other side of the
fenceline. The young llamas and young horses used to
'visit' through the fence regularly. We even had one
pony who adopted the llama technique of 'knee biting'
to encourage submission from the other horses. Now
THAT was funny to watch!! Have watched many a 'rodeo'
over the years as people try to ride their horses past
the llama pasture. Have even had people ask us how we
'train' our horses not to be afraid of llamas!! They
just don't know any better, having grown up 'next
door' so to speak.

The first time Rusten was here 'visiting' Line, he was
more interested in "What" was on the other side of the
fence over there(!) than he was in Line at first. He
never really seemed afraid of them - just 'mighty
curious'. Maybe he thought they were a threat, who
knows?
