The young llamas and young horses used to 'visit' through the fence regularly. We even had one pony who adopted the llama technique of 'knee biting' to encourage submission from the other horses. Now THAT was funny to watch!! Have watched many a 'rodeo' over the years as people try to ride their horses past the llama pasture. Have even had people ask us how we 'train' our horses not to be afraid of llamas!! They just don't know any better, having grown up 'next door' so to speak. The first time Rusten was here 'visiting' Line, he was more interested in "What" was on the other side of the fence over there(!) than he was in Line at first. He never really seemed afraid of them - just 'mighty curious'. Maybe he thought they were a threat, who knows?
