Works for me too. If I cut down or trim sumac, ash, basswood (linden), maple, etc. trees, I sometimes put the large pieces in the "dry lot" near the barn where my horses must spend a lot of time in muddy weather to avoid ruining the pasture. (I avoid walnut and oak.) Playing with the trimmings keeps the ponies occupied and NOT chewing the fence rails and posts. They especially like pieces with tender bark they can strip or leaves to munch. One 6 inch by 6 inch treated-wood post in the dry lot is about 1/2 its normal size due to busy teeth this past spring.
