This message is from: [EMAIL PROTECTED] My husband Chuck and I went to a sourdough pancake breakfast last weekend -- a charitable benefit hosted by the local saddle club. I brought Sissel, my Fjord mare, and rode her in the trail ride after the breakfast.
Upon seeing Sissel, a lady mentioned to Chuck that some people were discussing the idea of having a Fjord show in Decorah in conjunction with the town's Norwegian Festival each summer. The lady said she thought the Decorah people were wanting to move the "national show" to Decorah. Knowing there is no "national Fjord show", Chuck and I wondered if she was actually referring to the Blue Earth show, but that is purely speculation on our part. (For those not familiar with the upper midwest, Blue Earth, Minnesota, is about 3 hours west and a bit north of Decorah.) Has anyone on the List heard anything about this? Or is it just hot air? DeeAnna PS: Sissel did very well in the ride, although she was determined throughout to be the leader. Since neither she nor I had any idea where the ride was supposed to go, that was obviously not a good idea! I worked on that during the ride as best I could -- giving to the bit, slowing down, speeding up, etc. Despite living a life of leisure usually, she was still eager to keep going after 2 1/2 hours of scrambling up and down hills, fording (or is that fjording?) streams, and avoiding trail hazards. I, on the other hand, needed a rest.
