I am amazed at the number of people who emailed me when I put my fjords up
for sale. Every note sent encouraged me to hang in there and not part with
the horses.
Two weeks before I lost Katrina my mother died in England. The day after
Katrina died my daughter was admitted to the hospital in Korea with a sever
reaction to a sulfur drug. Teresa is in the airforce and is stationed in
Korea. The reaction was so sever the airforce sent a medical team to Korea
and flew Teresa back to San Antonio. She was in critical condition for 3
weeks in the burn unit with blisters over 80% of her body. I had an orphan
foal to feed every 90 minutes so I couldn't go to San Antonio to be with her
so her father went. Teresa is doing well now and is on convalescent leave
until July 9 at which time she will return to Korea. A few days after Teresa
was released from the hospital a close friend of ours died of liver cancer.
My husband and I were witnesses when he got married 6 years ago, instead of
celebrating his 6th wedding anniversary we buried him that day instead, he
left 2 year old twins a boy and a girl.
When I offered the horses for sale I had nothing left, I was emotionally
drained and very tired. Your emails made me realize how important the fjords
are in my life. I have seen my doctor and got some meds to help me over the
depression and have stared to work with the horses again. When I drove
Heather last Friday it was wonderful and made me realize this is why I have
horses. I hadn't driven her since Keswick was born, just no time with all the
feeding.
Keswick is doing well, he will be 8 weeks old in a few days, he is eating hay
and Equine Jr. and Foal Lac pellets and we have cut his milk feedings to
every 4 hours.
Thank you to everyone who took time to write, you mail has been saved and
next time I think of selling my fjords I will read them all again.
