Hi Cheryl, The BLACK Fjord is a result of the fjord rolling in mud! I often have black and pinto and appaloosa appearing Fjords in the spring when the corrals are muddy! Right now my Fjords are fuzzy furballs!

Did I see someone mention a BLACK Fjord? I'm recently the owner of my first horse, Amie, a Fjord mare I purchased from Oscar's Round Mountain Fjords in Naples, ID. I did lots of studying after seeing Fjords at the Los Angeles County Fair, CA. Never read anything about black Fjords. Does this happen often?
