    Hello group…….

I just
wanted to say congratulations to Kathy and Randy Johnson of Montrose, MN
who's Stallion WW Reidar is gracing the FRONT cover of the Driving
Digest. If you wish to view, please go to www.drivingdigest.com, under the
picture is a title, " in this issue" , click on that as
    well to view
another picture inside , and then if you scroll to the bottom,
    there is a
little write up about the day.

In December, friends JJ,
    Doyle and
Shirley Gates, my foster son Jadin, and I were guest for the day,
    for a
day of sleighing at Kathy and Randy Johnson's. We hitched their
    Stallion
WW Reidar to my antique sleigh. My foster son, had never been
    on a horse
let alone ridden in a sleigh. Once harnessed and the full
    set of sleigh
bells set upon Reidar's back, I ground drove to get him use to
    the bells.
Well, he never blinked an eye at them. It was like he had
    worn them all
the time. Next we took him out to the sleigh and let him
    see it and hear
it, as it scraped across the slightly snowed cover gravel
    road. Again,
no response. He did turn and have a look that was
    like "enough already,
you going to hitch me and go or what." So we did just
    that.

Anyone that
has been to Kathy's place, know about the wonderful
    driving/sleighing
trails in the woods and along the pond. It was
    perfect. Reidar was
perfect. He drove with ease and alert, he pulled the
    sleigh without
concern or worry.
Friends, Doyle and Shirley were busying
    taking
pictures. Jadin later joined me in the sleigh which was also captured
    on
film. It was a picture perfect day.
    There was much laughter heard
echoing in the woods a Woodpecker Woods.
    The other horses outside,
watched with great interest as we sleighed and
    jingle here and there. It
was truly a wonderful experience for
    Jadin.

After wards, Reidar was
treated to a good brushing, many
treats, and a nice, long much deserved
rolling time, in the indoor
arena. We the people, went inside for 3
delicious homemade soups by JJ
and Kathy's mom, homemade bread, hot
chocolate and freshly baked pies.
This was the perfect ending to a day
that started less then perfect.
For you see we started out the day with
a flat tire near Zumbrota, MN.
Thanks to Doyle and Jadin, I now know how
to change a tire that goes flat on
my truck, in the freezing cold, on the
road.

A special thank you to
Kathy and Randy for the wonderful invite to
their home and a another
opportunity to drive WW Reidar. He was a dream.
This day will be
remembered by all on that day, especially by Jadin.
Thank you
    Kathy!!!!!
