This message is from: "Sharon" <[email protected]> >>>I ended up tacking a 1/2 " pad of wool felt onto the underside and sliding a 1/2" neoprene pad into it (like a pillow case>> How did you tack the felt onto the tacky-too pad? Kate
Hi Kate, 1. I cut the felt pad in half (lengthwise) with heavy duty scissors. 2. Because the felt pad was a square western pad, I trimmed the bottom edge to match the shape of my round skirted tacky-too pad. 3. For spinal clearance, I trimmed @1.5 inches off the center of each pad half. 4. Place the felt pad botton edge even with the edge of your tacky-too pad and begin tacking the edge. It is not necessary to tack the center edge. 5. To tack it together - I got a big darner's or curved upholstery needle, threaded the needle with embroidery floss or waxed thread and made inch long stitches...up thru the felt, back thru the felt an inch away and into the top layer of the tacky-too pad, then came back up thru the tacky-too pad another inch ddown the pad and then back thru the felt up and down. Don't pull the thread tight, you should be able to fit your little finger in between the felt and the tacky-too. (I don't go al lthe way thru the tacky-too pad because I don't want the stitches to show on the topside of the tacky-too pad and also I don't want to run the stitches thru the neoprene pad I slid inside each side of the tacky-too pad.) Hope this helps, Sharon Important FjordHorse List Links: Subscription Management: http://tinyurl.com/5msa7e FH-L Archives: http://tinyurl.com/rcepw Classified Ads: http://tinyurl.com/5b5g2f
